Our First Classroom
It all started in 2007. Alongside Byju Raveendran, Divya began teaching with a simple, powerful goal: to make learning relatable and enjoyable for every student.
Their unique methods struck a chord. What began as a team of two soon grew into a small group of passionate educators, all united by the same vision. In 2011, Think & Learn Private Limited was incorporated to reimagine how India learns, combining the best of teachers, technology, and storytelling.
It all started in 2007. Alongside Byju Raveendran, Divya began teaching with a simple, powerful goal: to make learning relatable and enjoyable for every student.
Their unique methods struck a chord. What began as a team of two soon grew into a small group of passionate educators, all united by the same vision. In 2011, Think & Learn Private Limited was incorporated to reimagine how India learns, combining the best of teachers, technology, and storytelling.
A Learning Revolution
Sometime in 2012, the first BYJU’S video was recorded. It wasn’t just a proof of concept, it was a statement of intent.
In the three years that followed, countless lessons were recorded, ideas were tested, and teaching methods were perfected. By 2015, the vision took its full shape with the launch of the BYJU’S Learning App.
Suddenly, learning wasn’t confined to a classroom. It was interactive, visual, and personalized, reaching millions of students across India and then, across the world. The learning revolution had begun.
Sometime in 2012, the first BYJU’S video was recorded. It wasn’t just a proof of concept, it was a statement of intent.

A self-taught brand strategist, Divya designed the very first visuals for BYJU’S. It was her decision to paint the brand with a striking shade of purple, a colour that would soon become synonymous with learning itself.
That bold purple reflected a mindset of exploration and discovery. As the company grew, Divya’s vision turned it into a trusted symbol for students and parents.
The true essence of this vision is reflected in the social initiative, BYJU’S Education For All, which provides free, high-quality education to more than 5 million underserved children across India.
